Emerald Canyon - Bommer Ridge Loop
  .jpg)
Join the Jaycees and friends for a scenic, moderate-level day hike in the coastal hills of Laguna Beach. We'll meet at the Laguna Coast Wilderness parking lot on Highway 133 around 9:45 a.m. The hike is a 6.5-mile loop trail and should take about three hours, with an elevation gain of 1,400 feet. You are also welcome to join us for lunch in downtown Laguna Beach after the hike (location TBD).
Note: There are 2 or 3 Laguna Coast Wilderness parking lots on Hwy. 133 (just to make life more confusing.) We will be meeting at the parking lot just south of El Toro Rd. If you program the address into your GPS, it may lead you astray, so please use the directions provided here or call Tara at (949) 838-4877 if you have any questions.
Heavy rain cancels the event.
What to Bring:

Sunscreen

"This hike loops through coastal canyons and high open ridges in the heart of Laguna Coast Wilderness Park. The route follows tree-shaded Willow and Emerald Canyons, passing weather-carved rock formations and meadows. The hike also includes Emerald and Bommer Ridges, with panoramic vistas of the ocean, coastline, and San Joaquin Hills." (Day Hikes around Orange County, p. 61) |
